What does church membership entail? How do I become a member? How is my membership terminated?

What is a description of a member?

  1. Any person who was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church and transferred at the conception of the Savannah Community Church will automatically become a member of the Savannah Community Church.
  2. A believer in Jesus Christ.
  3. In substantial agreement in our articles of faith.
  4. A transfer member in good standing from a like faith.
  5. A person who attends church frequently.
  6. A person who is responsible for supporting the church both financially and spiritually.

How do you become a member?

  1. By your profession of faith and baptism.
  2. Applying for membership by filling out a membership card. Speaking with another member or Pastor.
  3. Interview with the Pastor.
  4. Upon recommendation of the Pastor, you would be presented in front of the church congregation to become a member. The congregation would then vote to receive you as a member.

Termination of a membership:

  1. The Pastor and/or Administrative Board will settle any conflicts that may arise.
  2. Transfers to another church.
  3. Death of the member. If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
